History

Connecticut American Sign Language (ASL) News is a non-profit organization which provides monthly vlogs about news and events related to and for the Deaf, and Hard of Hearing Community in Connecticut. Steven Heron was best known as the co-founder and promoter of the website since 2013.

Mission Statement

Our news crew will go out to different events and sporting events within CT. This will include interviewing many deaf, hard of hearing and hearing people associated with the Deaf Community in various activities. We will solicit information from the community to post on this page and on YouTube. We provide the latest news, events, sports, etc, in video content by our website for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and hearing people who use the ASL (American Sign Language). We offer an opportunity for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community to have a voice as it relates to events, sports, and more for Connecticut. For the best source of the latest local breaking news within the Deaf Community.

Connecticut Deaf Theatre is announcing an open call for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, and Deaf+ creatives! CDT is mounting a Devised Theatre Workshop of Grimm's Fairy Tales, to take place in Connecticut from June 17-25, 2023. A group of 10 collaborators will be invited to brainstorm, develop, and devise a performance inspired by a selection of Grimm Fairy Tales. We are seeking actors, dancers, choreographers, ASL translators/artists, writers, and creators. Do you feel like you would contribute to this artistic effort? Apply by May 26 to be considered for a Collaborator slot! Travel, lodging, and meals will be provided, as well as accommodations for those who request them. At the edge of the card top right, top left and the reverse it is laced with icing that is gold. In between the cards are gold bold text reading different roles: Dancers, Actors, ASL Translators, Writers, Creators, and Choreographers. On the right column of the image is a list of text.
